I like Mac, great for work, and everyday use. But sadly, I found 2 things that annoys me a lot, especially while I'm working. Here goes ...
Finder is Application
Finder always treated as an ordinary application instead of OS shell. I often find myself jeopardized in + tab situation, because it's still have the Finder icon (even though there is no Finder Window that running at the moment).

Quick Look window size
When you have a folder filled with the last night party photos (landscape and portrait), you'll notice when you're in Quick Look mode browsing the photos, the Quick Look's window size is always the same (depends on the 1st item invoked). It should be auto resized depends on each items, so that we don't have to have something like this:

Do you have other annoying things about the mac?

I think finder icon is usefull.
imagine a situation when you are finished downloading an mp3 file and you want to go to download folder right away to open the mp3 u just downloaded. you just cmd+tab to finder to make it get focused and then cmd+n to open the finder window, then browse for download folder.
viola.
about quicklook, it's a new feature from leopard just added not long ago. it will become mature as the OS progress. like support for quickviewing all extensions files without the needing of unofficial plugins.
I can understand your scenario and think it might be useful to others. But I just feel that the Finder should be excluded in +tab if there is no Finder Window opened. In your scenario, I rather hit the Finder icon in the Dock.
As for the Quick Look, I think it's a silly bug and Apple should address this fix asap. Surprised that they still doesn't fix this on 4th patch (10.5.4).
And hell yeah, +1 to Quick Look plugins pre-installed.
u prefer to click the icon in the dock. what about when you're coding css files in textmate and then go back and forth from it to firefox and keep pressing F5 to refresh and get the new looks of the updated css codes. those works should keep both of your hands on the keyboard and it's pretty annoying to refresh the browser by moving hand to the mouse or trackpad and click the reload button. isn't it?
I wasn't saying I prefer to click every icon in the dock. I was saying about Finder.
yeah, you keep cmd-tabbing the firefox and textmate, while doing that and you prefer to click the finder on the dock instead of cmd+n to open a folder you need to open.
how efficient..
Chillax, I'm saying that I disagree to have Finder on + tab, IF there is no Finder window opened atm.
To me it's more logical that way. No application = no icon on + tab. Application running = icon on + tab.
But somehow, Finder never "off" even though there is no its window running.
I think apple didn't create something for nothing, it just depend on "the way" we use those what apple create. right?
That's right buddy!
I have to disaggree on the Finder stuff. I like the file manager as application. If it's as a sheel, when a system got hung, than you have nothing to control. But if it's a single application, you still will be able to access important files, or even save the system by opening up terminal. One bad example is Windows Explorer in XP, if explorer died, what happen? You got frozen OS.
Agree on QuickLook windows, it will be wonderfull if the window clever enough to get us the best size, just like in Preview.
My Rant about Leopard, is i can not positioned my Desktop icons anywhere i wanted. If i moved it to the left side, when log out-log in Leopard reset it to the right side.
I guess, Finder situation got me punched 2 times :D
I have to check about the icon remembering by Leopard. Thanks for pointing this out.
